Sandstorms and Cell Phones

So I just got this picture of John all geared up in his Sandstorm attire. I guess the sandstorms are getting more frequent this one he said you couldn't see anything 50 feet in front of you, but apparently it wasn't a bad one. Some get so bad they cant work, on the other hand it hasn't rained over there yet. Its so strange to me to think of a place with no rain. I am sure the sound of thunder will be different for him when he comes home. John is experiencing such a different world.
It just got approved for the employees to have cell phones - YAY!!!! This will make communicating so much easier and convenient. I hate it when we miss a call from him because there is no way to call him back and it might be the last opportunity to talk to him until the next day so I am really looking forward to sending him a cell phone. I will let you all know his number once we get it situated.

The Briar Patch

I thought one of the coolest things we did when we went to MI was pick berries. I really enjoyed watching Johnny ration the berries one in the mouth and one in the bucket. Ever since then we have found a couple places locally to pick strawberries and I just found out about this cute place, The Briar Patch, that is only miles away from the house. So we went this weekend and what a great find. There were apples, berries, beans, tomatoes, figs - just about everything you can pick they have it. We grabbed a bucket and started picking blueberries, a favorite in our house. The mistake I made was doing this on the hottest morning of the year. My gosh I was glistening after ten minuets and Johnny had beads of sweat running down his face but we were determined to leave with something. So I picked and Johnny went from bush to bush eating what was at his level. After about 20 min I came to the realization that a gallon of blueberries was not going to happen seeing as how we barley had enough to cover the bottom of the bucket and my glisten had turned into sweat - yuck. I gave both of us a little motivation of a fresh blueberry milkshake when we finished and that was enough, we picked a little faster and Johnny ate a little less. Once the bucket was about 1/2 full and we were both drenched we called it a day. All those blueberries and it only cost 4.00!!! I cant wait for this heat to break and go back to take advantage of all the fruit and vegetables they have there. And let me tell you it was the best milkshake I have ever had!

More of Johnnys Moves

Sometimes the boy just wants to dance and I love it when he does. He really loves music and when he listens to it you can tell it moves him literally. It is so funny to see his different styles come out for the different songs. He loves everything from folk and classic rock to lady gaga. When I put on hard rock he beats his chest and grunts, a slow song he brings out the ballet moves, and with rock well he acts like a rock star. He danced for about an hour the other night and it was quality stuff!

Sometimes its ok to Follow

So, blogging is a bit of an intimidating thing there is a lot of pressure to have a cute blog, and to keep it updated but I feel I am starting to get the hang of it. I don't know how many of you actually are reading this since I only have 3 loyal followers, thank you Jenny, Tricia and Uncle Alex! And considering my own mother keeps asking for the link. I don't know why it is not bookmarked as a favorite yet MOM! But now to make things a little easier for yall I have set it up where you can subscribe to the blog. You just enter your email and every time my blog gets updated you will receive an email. (I already did this for you John). It is a great way to stay in the loop without having to go to the blog. And if you have a few minuets sign in to Google so you can become a follower, I would love to have more then 3.

All about Johnny

I mean really when is it not all about him? We had a fun weekend that was everything he likes to do. We registered him for his 3rd season of Pre-T. Where we somehow ended up at the football registration, and Johnny begging to play. He has to wait a few more years on that one. I cant wait to find out what team he will be on, he said he hopes it is the Longhorns - guess he still had his mind on Football. (sorry Jenny). Then we went to a clay pottery place where you get to pick out and paint your own pottery. He took forever trying to decide what to do for John, it was between a pony, snake and an electric guitar. Once Johnny made his selection then he had to pick out the paint colors which was another tough decision. He painted the pottery choosing a different size brush for every color and paying very close attention to detail. It was so hard for me to just sit back and let him paint without giving some input, not that I am a control freak or anything. The poor girl who had to clean up after us, I think he used every single brush in the place but the end result is awesome. I love seeing his creations! Im going to get it off to John this weekend. After we finished up there we went and saw Toy Story 3, because everyone in his whole class has seen it but him. He was not disappointed, now he wants to go back and see the other Toy Story 3 (in 3D, you cant get anything past him). We finished up the weekend at one of my favorite parks, Harbins with a walk and bike ride. It had rained so Johnny thought it was so much fun riding through the puddles. Every time he would get to the top of the hill he said Holy Macacraparoli, then look at me and say I didn't say crap mom I said Macacraparoli. Once we got to the mile mark he told me his legs were going to fall off but I made him finish it out, grunting his way to the playground. Then dinner with the family, weekends that are all about Johnny are pretty fun!

Check out the TICKER!!!

That's right, 2 months and 4 days until hugs and kisses. And really it is only 2 months and 2 days (It is set to Johnny's Birthday) I don't ever want to wish any of my life away but I sure hope these 2 moths go fast! Johnny told me this morning when I was dropping him off for school he just wants his dad back, and I do too even if it will just be for 15 days.

Special Delivery.....

Johnny was beyond excited to see a package at the door with his name on it. He knew it was from daddy and couldn't wait to rip it open and see what was inside. And was even more excited when he saw it was his very own camelpak. And even better because there was cool patches to go on it. He has been wanting to ride his bike, go for a walk for camping, anything to use the camelpak. Then he also got Toy Story 3 on DVD- pretty cool. John also sent me a beautiful purse and some t shirts. It was good to see he has been thinking about us too.

A broken Heart

At first glance this might look like a sweet moment between Johnny and me. Well it wasn't, right before the camera went off he whispered in my ear, I hate you. Gasp! How could these horrible words come from the sweet lips of my child? (maybe it had to do with the 100 pictures I was making him take but he should be used to that by now) Lately he hates everything, I hate riding in the car,I hate taking a shower, I hate going to the pool -really I think he just likes saying it to get a reaction, its the word of the week but I hate it. LOL Yes it was followed by a panicked look on his face and a hug and im sorrys but still. I know im going to get it a lot from him but I thought I could at least make it till the teenage years. Sheesh - Hate is now a bad word in our house. You can not like something (except your mother) but he will not be a hater. Of course I talked to him about how it is such a mean word that can really hurt feelings and break hearts. It got him when I said I love you all the time, no matter what thats what mommies do, he then responded with he loves me but sometimes just doesn't like me, like when I dont give him ice cream. Deep stuff going on over at the Blue house.

Just keep swimming, swimming

It has been so hot this summer, so most of our afternoons and free time has been spent at the pool. Johnny does really well with his floaties and its so nice at this age he will just play with the other kids and I can actually lay out and work on a tan. Playing with these older kids has made him brave, and he now wants to swim without his floaties. So we have been working on it and he will start swim lessons next week but he is doing pretty good. I have found he does better with the underwater swimming rater then freestyle so I am just going to let him do what works. He really surprised me this weekend when he did a cannon ball into the pool, and then he swam to the bottom of 3 1/2 feet to get his diving stick, of course he wont do this when anyone is around or looking but I tried to tape a little of it for John.

The longer video was too big to post. Hopefully I can shorten it and get it up this weekend.

My baby is growing up

Well Johnny is always making me smile but lately he has been cracking me up. The other night I sent him to brush his teeth. After a few min passed and I didnt hear the water running I figured I needed to check on him. You will not even believe what he was doing, I know that all you guys do this but to see my little 3.5 year old in front of the mirror flexing (and making great faces to go along with it- lol) made me realize he is growing up. I tried to grab my camera without him seeing me but was unsuccessful, he did do a peck flex for me (one that daddy taught him).
